DCD is a marked impairment in motor coordination which interferes significantly with academic achievement and daily life. If DCD is untreated, the impaired performance it gives rise to these areas causes lasting damage to a childˇ¦s self-confidence and life-chances. The DCD service therefore aims for early identification and treatment of the condition, with improvement in coordination, quality of movement, and functional performance. For children, we offer standardized assessments, clinical observation, and individualized treatment. For parents, teachers and health care professionals, we provide professional consultation on training and management of children with DCD, and group visits for demonstration of aids, books, and computer software. |
