The Wheelchair Specialty Service is staffed by Rehabaid¡¦s team of experienced
occupational therapists and physiotherapists, and provides services both for
health care professionals and for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
Services for people with disabilities include prescription of manual or power
wheelchairs; assessment and consultation on seating and optimal posture; training
in basic wheelchair manoeuvres and transfer techniques; and environmental assessment
(e.g. home design or modification). For healthcare professionals, we provide
consultancy service on selection of appropriate wheelchair solutions, and loans
of equipment to enable clinical assessment in the clinician¡¦s preferred venue.
Our resources include a large range of manual and power wheelchairs, an extensive
library on wheelchair-related topics, and a computer database providing the most
up-to-date information on related products. |
